— Eίναι η πηγή του στοχασμού. Oταν πήγα για πρώτη φορά στο Σεράγεβο έκανα τράβελινγκ, χρησιμοποιώντας φράσεις του Xάιντεγκερ. Μια εκδοχή για τον πόλεμο, τη μελαγχολία, τον παράδεισο, την Παλαιστίνη και το Σαράγεβο: έτσι χαρακτηρίζουν οι κριτικοί τη νέα ταινία του Γκοντάρ «H μουσική μας», που προβλήθηκε χθες εκτός συναγωνισμού στο Φεστιβάλ των Καννών. Ακούραστος σκηνοθέτης ο Γκοντάρ, από τους πιο παραγωγικούς σε ολόκληρο τον πλανήτη, με πενήντα ταινίες μεγάλου μήκους στο ενεργητικό του. «Όταν ξεκίνησα να γυρίζω ταινίες», λέει, «ήμουν μηδέν ετών». Κι ύστερα, ευτυχώς για μας, ξέχασε να σταματήσει.

Στον Γκοντάρ δεν αρέσουν οι ορισμοί. «Δεν υπάρχει αμφιβολία ότι είμαι ή πολύ γέρος ή πολύ νέος γι' αυτό», λέει στον δημοσιογράφο τής Λιμπερασιόν. Όμως εκείνος επιμένει να τον ρωτά.
