Residence

A notion of endism lures itself about today. An undertanding of limits as the interuption hatred as a nationistic residue propagates, alongside the necessary mourning. The necessary absence, that is. The anniversary lyrics sing the song not uttered. Recollected only in epiphanies over the ironing board are those attempts, around that exact same time of the songs issue, to construct a spatial familiality around sounds, or around sounds that would at least silence the soundtrack that was had remained - as all soundtracks - irreversably registered. A soundtrack which has never been erased, neither form the registry of the medium nor from its precise technological registration; yet those sounds, whose lyrics were remembered alongside a trembling, at the limit, have strained, as any listening does, to do.
The persistant innability - their honest unsuitability only just made clear - has however underscored that mirrored residue of abominance. An attempt by songs to poems of Dionysios Solomos, across the same medium, hit the wall (of the drawer). The discource is now one of (always already meta-theological in this case, in this space) endism.

My corporeality has been infected by a likeness from very early on. I tried to trace it across the stains of table linen and the sound glasses make in bars. That mute thumping noise against the sticky wooden surface, the ocassional high pitch, short-circuited 'clang' of tied smiles, the silent caressing of their bottoms. I got bloated and starved myself from a familiar that wasn't. What was presented on paper, what, as always, has haunted the eye of the camera, I kept in an attempt to near it at a later stage. The space where I once was able has disabled itself due to the publicity of the medium. An exstravagant machine for writing has now a technical deficit, a translation arrears. Living beyond my means, I am therefore overdrawn and thus withdrawn from any emotional expenditure. The anger and the sadness of the anger belong now to the order of a fragmented sociability of bedroom-bound afternoons and midnight nasal detriments. The pragmatological symbolic order appears inescapable and adjustments of the stolen-mine, of a belonging so distant from belonging, an intention ordained in social indespensability. A circusmcision made able by the force of cursumstances. A lamp burns gracefully.

Fuck You!

Mina Loy is incapable of containing these hours. The empty felt board is healing itself and I have nothing but water, and dead finger nails by my wrists. It has never gone away. The memories of a future anterior; flirting with the black bile as it returns. The digitization of geography allows for a borrowed iconography at least. Instead of an absence, an archeaology of the technologies of communications, a staged gaze, a Sunday photographer. Re-transfering it, I come across 11 or so instances where a neutral ground could have existed. One, very early on, appears as the story never told. The post-Heideggerian gesture of the call. A cull, most likely. Breaths through car windows. Bewildered gestures of unresolved eroticism on the ocassion of contact. Midnight showers get punctured by fragmented monolgues, rarely uttered. The bathroom as sanctuary as mind. The books can not stand this. Contracts of filiality. You still must have my copy of Brahms' violin concerto. Again, for the third time, what you perverted has to allow for its non-tactile simulation.

Fit

Or Jokes (from the) Inside

[Apropos, jai me to soundtrack tou]

Coming round to it, with all the open-plan kitchens of today's condominiums, the alcoves of quickie-love in the domestic arena have all but already materialiased as the outside; opened up to the porosity of our specific urban situation and mirrored it back as style. I can see you, you can see me, I can hear you and you me - but no touching. So in days like this, where the 4.4 allows for allusions to 4x4=16, you end up with a gangbang in your hands. The kitchen is out -since it's no longer a kitchen but a 'living area' - and on top the order is, in days like this, to go to open air spaces. Don't stay enclosed. The veranda is not an open air space per se. It also suffices to just mention that having 16 people moaning and shaking on a veranda will almost surely quadruple the strenghth of the end result of the unavoidable. It is hot too. Hm.

Dilemma.

In the past the Orphanides car park has been suggested as an alternative. And what a better solution may I ask than a trip to the supermarket, the sort of trip Enviro-Epitrop (sic) The First really, really, likes. You also get to shut down the airconditioning system, the tv, the other tv, the dvd player, the desktop and the laptop, thus backing Panousis' sole rights to the 10 000kW saga and its various recordered records. I am of course talking about dogging. Dogging as a multifaceted civil and ecological activity that is in proxy already adviced by various govermental departments of this Gerorge Michael (least we forget) land. Van De Meer's dog is dead but we ve learned from our mistakes. We have a blogging Enviro-Epitrop (sic) being active and publicly accountable for it if you do not believe it. And as much as I searched to find any mention of cycles, bike sharing, congestion charging, CO2 emmisions cutting plans, golf, I found nothing. Nothing but talk about a lot of talks with supermarkets and their plastic bags (Just ban the shit man! And tax its use for a brief spell beforehand so people will get used to not having it around too. No need for car-dependent meetings!), Green Dot (what a lovely lot they are: a recycling and waste management company giving out two air tickets to Paris as gifts for some form of lottery of theirs - and no I am not going to start calculating the maths of such an offset of the offset of their carbon footprint and in extenso our contribution to the economcis of climate change - he can do it) and Bryan Adams.

Bryan Adams of course is THE soundtrack for dogging. You know: 'Summer of 69', 'Everything I do, I do it for you', 'Have you ever loved a woman?', 'Open Road'. Ah! No wonder Canada apologised many times about him on South Park. Whereas if you try to cycle along with Bryan Adams on your iPod, you will go for 100, 200, ate 300 metres (Ibid) but then you wouldn't really feel right. No, you will actually find yourself very tired and you might have to be sent off to Australia for some whale watching and some wailing simulation courtesy of Despo Plyta. And all you thought you 've done for the enviroment, for this land, for its people, all just goes poof! Australia's relationship with Imelda Marcos is of course well known: Imelda needs sand, Imleda sends plane to Australia, plane bring sand for Imelda. Nothing vulgar about that. But the Paphos spot was already booked - and thus Australia. (What flight emissions, you willy nilly Cameronites?!)

Not exactly closing off the circle, not yet, what the guy is trying to do looks like a cool local government activist's job really. Nice, easy-going guy perplaxed as to why the people who put him there don't even cock as much as an ear to him. Naive yet passionate. Bless him.
Den thelw 'eu'! Ate...
Hope he has his summer reading list ready though. I know I do.

#ΓΤΠ [Press and Information Office] President Tassos Papadopoulos announces he is running

President Tassos Papadopoulos announceshe is running for re-election

The President of the Republic, Mr. Tassos Papadopoulos, today asked the citizens of the Cyprus Republic to again honour him with their trust and their vote.

Announcing his decision to run for re-election, President Papadopoulos stated that he feels he honoured the trust of the Cypriot people and that Cyprus is moving ahead with successes and confidence.

Referring to the Cyprus problem and specifically to the Annan Plan, President Papadopoulos said he submitted proposals to make this Plan a balanced one and one that could be mutually acceptable. On 24 April 2004, the day of the Referendum, President Papadopoulos said the majority of Greek Cypriots shared his concerns and "today we deserve to feel proud of our decision. We averted the permanent division of our country", he said and added: "We managed to convince that by rejecting the Annan Plan, we do not reject the solution. We rejected the specific Plan which did not provide for the true reunification of Cyprus." We managed to reverse the negative climate in the EU and internationally, he added, after the rejection of the Plan and to link Turkey's EU course with the obligation to normalize its relations with the Cyprus Republic.

Referring to the 8 July Agreement, President Papadopoulos said the Agreement opened up a new way and provides for a new basis that will be the result of negotiations on substantive aspects of the Cyprus problem within the Working Groups and, finally, the result of talks between the leaders of the two Communities. He said his recent proposal for a meeting with Mr. Talat aims to promote the implementation of the Agreement.

Addressing the Turkish Cypriots, he said: "To our Turkish Cypriot compatriots, I provide the assurance of the respect of their lawful rights as equal citizens in a reunified Cyprus. I understand and respect their concerns which have been caused by many years of dispute and separation. I believe that a solution can be viable and functional, if it is based upon an agreed basis between the leaders as well as the communities. It should serve the interests and address the concerns of each community and of the citizens rather than the interests and the intentions of third parties."

President Papadopoulos stressed he is striving to achieve a solution but this could not be any solution. "I am not willing to simply put an end to the Cyprus problem. I am not willing to sacrifice the rights of refugees to their properties and their right to return", he said.

Referring to his home policy, President Papadopoulos said his Government's effort to improve the standard of living of each and every citizen has been strenuous and effective, although not everything has been perfectly fulfilled. He referred to the economic reforms and the introduction of the euro on 1st January, 2008 which constitutes a sound confirmation of the success of Cyprus' economy policy.

He said his Government has doubled social expenditure, reduced taxation and promoted institutional changes in order to consolidate the rule of law and equality. "We have simplified bureaucratic procedures and have established the Citizens Serving Centres. We have reformed the health system, we have shaped and implemented an integrated educational reform. We have broadened and enriched the housing policy. We have established a new policy for the protection of the environment. We have designed new programmes to financially support the youth and the women so that they can set up their own businesses. Thus our Democracy has become a contemporary European state", he said.

In implementing the Government's Programme, President Papadopoulos praised the contribution of AKEL, DIKO and EDEK parties.

"My duty and responsibility is to ensure that the course we have paved together and for which we have jointly struggled will continue. To ensure that the solution to the Cyprus problem will be the one we wish for and not the one some people wished to impose on us," the President said.

Concluding his statement President Papadopoulos called on the people of Cyprus to honour him once again with their trust.

"I am asking for your trust and support in order to secure together the course of Cyprus in the years to come. To act as the communicator of your own decisions and of your own vision. To continue to strive for the solution to the Cyprus problem, following your mandate. I place my policy and my stance so far as a guarantee."

I trust in your judgment and love for Cyprus, he concluded.

>The relativity invoked in the above implodes into itself when one considers a certain sort of animal ethics, where the worm is appropriated in an appropriation of the living by the living, in an extraction from the living, a leave that is to say, of that which pertains to the living as waterborne. The corpse is no longer of any importance - and of course of no beauty, sensualy speaking- inasmuch as its own ontology is one of the becoming-corpse itself. Thus, the necessary distance that the notion of 'idea' is aluding to in the above quote, is voided, alongside the above mentioned relativity.

UPDATE: PERAIOS 3 IN POLITIS

Estw kai twra, meta tin 'kalypsi' tou docomomo, estw kati.
