Savoir Vivre
The boring bourgeoises keep me company over a drink and a half. The post-Lenninist intelligencia of a similar financial disposition has shied away from an urban introspection. It has also probably accepted invitations to summer houses etc. At that moment when the city gives itself to you where can you really go? The voice at minutes past 02:00 has much more validity than the badly constructed satellite, as it echoes and overtakes the claiming to the public space. The relative autonomy professed is nothing but the genealogy of the fiction of development and subsequently its lingo. Openings, permeability and porosity alienated from that commonwealth of practises in order to enlist foot soldiers to the last days of speculation. I climb up the street, pass the up-for-a-fight, incontinent guests and I caress my acme. The availability of coffee troubles me and immediately I return to the realm of the private. Participation does not exist in this city. Away from the fantasmtic monorail that allows for a communal air-contitioned space of civil disobedience -a civil as is defined by the local and that James Carville slogan- one does not take part. One is. Even in the realm of intrventions, one does not partake. Awareness, a key to information, is the maximum degree of public engagement. The rest is mere formalist encapsulation of a familial social and its catwalkness. Similar to the logic of renovation apres-demolitons.

Το κατασκέβασμα στην πλατεία ελευθερίας υποτίθεται ότι έγινε από τον σύλλογο κυπρίων αρχιτεκτόνων (όχι από τους μαθητές του ucy). Όπως ήταν φυσικά αναμενώμενο, η δουλειά έγινε από 6-7 φοιτητές διαφόρων πανεπιστημίων. Οι αρχιτέκτονες ενεν πελεκάνοι, εν διανοούμενοι. Σιχτήρ πιον.
Μια φίλη μου ήταν από τους λίγους μαλάκες που το έστησαν, και έτυχε να πάω 3-4 φορές κατά τη διαδικασία κατασκευής του. Απ' ότι κατάλαβα ήθελαν το ξύλινο κατασκεύασμα να λειτουργήσει σαν παρέμβαση στην πλατεία ελευθερίας όπου για δεκαπέντε μέτρα θα μπορούσες να "χαθείς" από την πόλη μέσα στην πόλη. Θεωρώ ότι αποτύχαν, γιατί ούτε πολύ ψηλό είναι, ούτε κάτι ωραίο έχει μέσα (εν μετρά η σειρά που φωτογραφίες), και φαίνονται οι τηλεφωνικοί θαλαμοι). Άσε που είμαι σίγουρος ότι πλέον εναν απλά ο τόπος που κατουρά ο περιπτεράς.
Πεζός; Μπορεί. Εν μου άρεσε.
