The abuser is named as a certain Cypriot student of the Chios University - others say he has also served in the cypriot commando army unit (ΛΟΚ)- who has since then fled to the UK.
The first link of this post is a comment quoted from the youtube page hosting the video and thus it too conects with the above mentioned animal abuse video.

Έγκλημα στο Φασούρι

Δεν τους εμπόδισε η συνείδησή τους, ούτε τους αποθάρρυναν τα μέτρα που λαμβάνουν από κοινού το Ταμείο Θήρας κι οι Βρετανικές Βάσεις Ακρωτηρίου για περιορισμό της λαθροθηρίας στην ευαίσθητη περιοχή του Φασουρίου. Τις πρωινές ώρες χθες, όπως υπολογίζεται, λαθροκυνηγοί "έβαλαν" κατά κοπαδιού σαϊνιών, καταφέρνοντας να θανατώσουν συνολικά 44. Οι ασυνείδητοι εγκατέλειψαν το ...θήραμά τους στην περιοχή του αγροκτήματος, αφού το είδος αυτό των πουλιών, δεν τρώγεται. Διερχόμενοι κάτοικοι της περιοχής που αντίκρισαν το αποκρουστικό θέαμα των νεκρών σαϊνιών, αλλά και κάποιων ζωντανών, που είχαν λαβωθεί από τα σφαιρίδια, κάλεσαν την Υπηρεσία Θήρας για αυτοψία στη σκηνή, αλλά και παραλαβή των τραυματισμένων πουλιών. Επτά τραυματισμένα μεταφέρθηκαν σε ειδικό κέντρο περίθαλψης στη Λευκωσία, για να τους προσφερθεί η βοήθεια που πιθανόν θα τα κρατήσει στη ζωή. Ο υπεύθυνος της Υπηρεσίας Θήρας στη Λεμεσό κ. Μηνάς Σταυρινίδης χαρακτήρισε εγκληματική την ενέργεια των επιτηδείων, που ούτε το ελαφρυντικό της ονομασίας "λαθροκυνηγοί" δεν θα μπορούσε να τους αποδοθεί. Τα ονομαζόμενα φαλκόνια (κοκκινοπόδαροι), ένα είδος μικρόσωμου γερακιού, είναι μεταναστευτικά πουλιά και προστατευόμενα από τη σχετική νομοθεσία στον τόπο μας. Προστατευόμενη κι απαγορευμένη περιοχή κυνηγίου είναι κι η ευρύτερη της Αλυκής και των υγροβιότοπων του Ακρωτηρίου, που δυστυχώς "προσελκύει" μεγάλο αριθμό λαθροκυνηγών από τις αρχές του Σεπτέμβρη. Η περιγραφόμενη κατάσταση επέβαλε τις συχνές περιπολίες του Ταμείου Θήρας σε συνεργασία με την Αστυνομία των Βάσεων.
Την αναίσχυντη κι εγκληματική πράξη της εξολόθρευσης δεκάδων σπάνιων φαλκονιών στο Φασούρι, καταδικάζει κι ο εκπρόσωπος της Ομοσπονδίας Περιβαλλοντικών και Οικολογικών Οργανώσεων Κύπρου κ. Παντελής Μεταξάς, καλώντας τις αρμόδιες υπηρεσίες να εντείνουν τα μέτρα πρόληψης και προστασίας της σπάνιας πανίδας του τόπου μας. Ζητά ταυτόχρονα να καταβληθούν προσπάθειες να εντοπιστούν και να τιμωρηθούν παραδειγματικά οι ένοχοι, κι η τιμωρία να λειτουργεί αποτρεπτικά για πιθανές νέες κακόβουλες κι αυθαίρετες ενέργειες.

Στην Κύπρο ξεκινάει μια προσπάθεια ελέγχου του πληθυσμού των γατών. Σε 20 περίπου περιοχές του νησιού θα τοποθετηθούν παγίδες για γάτες. Οι γάτες, όπως δηλώνει ο επικεφαλής του τμήματος υγείας Φίλιππος Πέτσας στο Reuters, θα επιστρέψουν στις περιοχές αυτές αφού πρώτα στειρωθούν.

Το 2004 Γάλλοι αρχαιολόγοι δήλωσαν πως σε έναν τάφο στην Κύπρο βρέθηκαν τα αρχαιότερα στοιχεία που δηλώνουν τη συμβίωση ανθρώπων με γάτες πριν από 9500 χρόνια. Μέχρι τότε όλοι θεωρούσαν τους αρχαίους Αιγύπτιους ως τον πρώτο πολιτισμό που εξημέρωσε τις γάτες.

Στα σημερινά χρόνια οι Κύπριοι δε θεωρούνται ιδιαίτερα φιλικοί με τις γάτες, ελάχιστοι έχουν γάτες στα σπίτια τους και αρκετοί τις δηλητηριάζουν σύμφωνα με δηλώσεις του Φίλιππου Πέτσα.

Almost 100 years to the day Alfred Jarry died and a few years since a substantial amount of facial hair made its appearance on the international football scene, Omada Ergasias will be participating at Art Forum Berlin (29 Sep – 03 Oct. 07) with a fête titled I' M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS. A concoction of sports eventualities, filmic renderings and audio-visual artifacts are some of the opportunities to be laid bare by Omada Ergasias in another project of revisiting Alfred Jarry's extended legacy, briefly. Borrowing the language, format and tactics employed by art exhibitions, symposiums and amusement fairs I' M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS will consist, amongst others, of a Trialectic Footbal Tournament, a 300km/h pedal bike competition, a conversation on aspects of the 'Pataphysical in contemporary culture, all open to the public of Art Forum Berlin. Also during I' M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS one will be able to view a film program compiled by Omada Ergasias on 'Pataphysical offsprings under the title 'The Molecular Theory of Bicycles' and listen to the first-ever specially composed soundtrack by a member of Omada Ergasias to Jarry's Ubu Roi.
T-shirts and other souvenirs will be available for purchase alongside the obligatory artist poster editions and the late night party. This last one will take place on Sunday 30th September 2007 at the United Nations Plaza.
